Shenhua Energy Co. Ltd. , China’s top producer of coal, sold 18.5 percent more coal in 2006 as power suppliers and steel manufacturers propped up demand for the black hydrocarbon.
Shenhua sold 171.1 million tonnes of coal last year, of which 23.9 million tonnes was exported — a rise of just 2.6 percent.
