U.S. imports of Venezuelan oil fell 11.7 percent during the first four months of the year compared to the same period last year, according to the Energy Department’s Energy Information Administration.
Analysts think the decline is partly due to stagnating Venezuelan oil production and overall lower crude imports by the U.S.

Crude-oil inventories fell last week for the fifth straight week, while gasoline stockpiles unexpectedly dropped.

Oil Supplies Down More Than Expected

Crude oil inventories fell by 4.6 million barrels last week to 302.2 million barrels — 13.5 percent below year-ago levels, the Energy Department’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its weekly report.
