The South Dakota Water Management Board has approved new rules for injection wells for uranium mining operations proposed for the Black Hills region.
The water board approved the rules Thursday after listing to public testimony the previous day.
State environmental officials say it will be at least two years before any mining begins.

Powertech Uranium Gets Permit to Look for Uranium in Southwestern Corner of South Dakota
