Cold weather faulted in coal train derailment

Cold weather was blamed for the derailment of a coal train last week near Gore, a Union Pacific Railroad spokesman said Thursday.
“We discovered a broken rail as a result of the extreme cold,” said the spokesman, Joe Arbona.
An 80-foot railroad bridge collapsed in the derailment, about 2 1/2 miles northwest of Gore.
