Cimarex Energy Expands Anadarko-Woodford Acreage

Cimarex Energy Co. announced the expansion of its Woodford Shale position in the Anadarko Basin of western Oklahoma. Cimarex has entered into an agreement with Chesapeake Energy Corporation to acquire 38,000 net acres for $180 million. NM oil & gas lease sales continue to climb

Earnings from the State Land Office’s monthly oil and gas lease sales jumped 12 percent in July compared to June, from $5.829 million to $6.517 million.
