Pride International, Inc. Reports All Rigs Accounted for and No Visible Damage to Fleet Following Hurricane Gustav
September 3, 2008 - Category: Mining Contractors, Oil and GasPride International, Inc. today reported that an air reconnaissance effort in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico was completed on September 2 and that its jackup rigs located in or near the path of Hurricane Gustav have been accounted for. The reconnaissance, conducted from a fixed-wing aircraft, found no visible damage to the units. Offshore personnel have begun returning to the rigs and will conduct a more thorough inspection of each unit.
Pride International, Inc., headquartered in Houston, Texas, is one of the world’s largest offshore drilling contractors, operating a fleet of 47 offshore rigs, including two deepwater drillships, 12 semisubmersible rigs, 28 jackups and five managed deepwater rigs. The company also has four ultra-deepwater drillships under construction with expected deliveries in 2010 and 2011.
