Mitsui Mining plans 11 pct rise in H1 zinc output

Japan’s Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co plans to produce 123,300 tonnes of zinc in the first half of the year ending in March 2009, up 10.9 percent from a year earlier.

Uranium explorer Brinkley Mining saw its shares rise sharply as it confirmed it had received an early stage bid approach.

South Dakota Water Management Board Approves Rules For Uranium Mining

The South Dakota Water Management Board has approved new rules for injection wells for uranium mining operations proposed for the Black Hills region.
The water board approved the rules Thursday after listing to public testimony the previous day.
State environmental officials say it will be at least two years before any mining begins.
