Gloucester Coal receives $320 mln bid from Xstrata

Australian coal miner Gloucester Coal Ltd. on Tuesday recommended shareholders accept a A$391 million ($320 million) offer from a subsidiary of Anglo-Swiss miner Xstrata Plc .

China Mar Coal Exports At 3.71 Million Tons, Down 36% On Year

China’s coal exports in March were down 36% on year at 3.71 million metric tons, according to preliminary data released by the General Administration of Customs Tuesday.
Its coal exports for the January-to-March period fell 31.9% on year to 11.41 million tons.
The bureau didn’t provide data for coal imports.

Bessemer-area coal mine reopens
