CSIRO says mining produces high income for water used

A new assessment from the CSIRO has found water used in the mining industry generates almost 16 times the income of that generated in agriculture.
The study has found that on average, the mining sector gets $80 of income for every cubic metre of water used, compared to an average of $5 for the agriculture industry.

South Africa: Kumba Hit By R150 Million Restructuring Costs

KUMBA Iron Ore’s share price fell 1,3%, or 150c, to R114 on Friday after it released a trading update warning shareholders that it would incur once-off costs of R150m as a result of the restructuring of Kumba Resources.
